Prevent Search Engines From Indexing Your WordPress Blog

There may be a point in time where you no longer wish to have search engines indexing your blog or you may not even want them to index it from the beginning. WordPress has a neat little option that allows you to easily prevent search engines from indexing your site located under the Privacy Settings configuration panel.

Log into your Admin Dashboard and under the Settings section click on Privacy. Then, just select the option “I would like to block search engines, but allow normal visitors” and click Save Changes.

That is all that is required and there is nothing else that you have to do. Now when a search engine spider comes to visit your site it will see the nofollow attribute located in the header and will move on without looking at your site.
