How To Change The Permalink For A Post Or Page
There have been a few times when I have needed to go back and change the permalink for one of my posts or pages to either fix a spelling issue or change the wording. Normally, when you change the title of the post/page and republish WordPress will also change out the permalink to the new setting. However, problems can occur from time to time and WordPress may not always update the new permalink.
Changing the permalink for the post or a page is incredibly easy! In fact, so easy that you don’t even have to visit the normal edit page. You can change the permalink directly from your list of posts using the Quick Edit option. Once you are on the list of posts/pages in your Admin Dashboard just hover your mouse over the title and click on the Quick Edit link.
WordPress will then popup some new information directly on the screen. In order to change the permalink, just edit the text in the Slug input field, click the Update button and you are all set!
If you happen to already be on the edit page for your page or post, just click on the Edit button located under the area where you create the title. After you change out the data, click the Save button and that is all that it takes.
